Blogging has become so frequent and rampant that the word ‘blog’ is often used interchangeably with ‘website’. Like Facebook and Twitter, blogging has entered the common consciousness and even has its own spin-offs like micro-blogging and so on.
What people don’t know is blogging can help you grow your business. In addition to driving traffic to websites, you can use it to increase sales for your company, forge long-term business relationships, and build brand loyalty. If you haven’t thought about blogging in that light before, it’s time to start.
In this post, I’m going to talk about how to use your blogging and writing skills to boost your business.
Your Writing Skills
The great blogs out there have highly talented writers behind them. In fact, the entire business of the internet revolves around the most basic and fundamental skill of writing.
Some people have a natural power for words. If you’re not one of them, you can train yourself to be a skilled writer. When it comes to blogging, there are certain pillars you should always use to hold your posts together. These include headlines, style, structure, and quality.
How to Apply Your Writing Skills to Your Business
You’ve been blogging and your writing skills have improved. Now it’s time to take these skills beyond your blog and apply them to social media. Many aspects of digital marketing rely heavily on writing. And the same pillar of words that makes a good blog post also make for a good social media strategy.
View this: you have to be a smart, strategic writer to stay relevant and ‘liked’ on social media. Use the skills you have gained from blogging to craft tweets, Facebook posts and other social media updates that prompt people to like and share your content.
This is also true for email marketing. Think of each email as a mini blog post. It has to have a beginning, a middle and an ending, as well as a call to action. In this case, you want to encourage readers to click on your email link to read and make a purchase.
Collaborate with Other Writers
Reaching out to other bloggers is one of the best ways to grow your business using your blogging and writing skills. You can exchange guest posts, product reviews and customer referrals. Guest posts in particular lead to increased exposure for your brand and boosted traffic to your website.
You don’t have to limit your guest blogging to a particular niche. Find blogs and influencers in markets adjacent to your own, then share insightful, top-quality content that’s been well-written and carefully edited.
In Conclusion
Strong writing skills are the cornerstone of a good blog and successful digital marketing campaigns. While blogging offers a great way to talk about your business, use your writing and blogging skills to build business sales and boost conversion.

Hi, Sunday!
It’s true that blogging does have so much power that it influences the online marketing landscape. It’s the matter of utilization, I guess. If brands prioritize Facebook ads, for example, and solely drive traffic to their product pages, then they, perhaps, don’t know the value of content marketing.
However, I have been noticing that people are getting aware of content marketing, which looks like a big deal for bloggers, freelance writers, and content marketers.
Great stuff.
Thank you!
Yes Hassaan, Facebook and other popular site are closing the pert for blog site.
Those who tend to last long can not spend all the time on paid adverts on Facebook just to boost their page.
Thanks for your comment Hassaan
Hello Hassaan, you honestly made a point. It very easy promoting once business on a blog and Marciewrite blog is an example to start with.
Is just that people are either scared of online presence why some hate having business dealing online except the blog or site is very popular like you mentioned Facebook. So its awareness that is lacking in the minds of people.
Thanks
