Growing South Side resource site is seeking research and writing interns.
Ideal interns will be high school and college students with good writing skills, creative minds and pleasant personalities. A strong interest in learning more about the diverse communities that make up Chicago’s South Side is essential. Must be comfortable searching the internet and have a good handle on Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Skype. Can work alone or with a team.
Responsibilities
- Read community newspapers, blogs and other sources for relevant information to post on the site.
- Writing brief introductions to topics
The time commitment for these assignments is 3-5 hours per week and should include reading, researching and writing. Interns are responsible for meeting weekly goals.
This is an unpaid internship. High school students can get credit for service learning hours. College students can get also get credit, but approval but be provided prior to beginning the project.
