Questions About Publishing Content on LinkedIn

Posted on July 16, 2025September 21, 2025 by Ms. Marcie

LinkedIn

I’ve read several articles that said people should publish content on LinkedIn consistently. I forgot the reasons stated for doing this, but it has sparked several questions for me as a job seeker and entrepreneur.

Another reason I have questions is because I follow amazing professionals that are the subject matter experts in their fields. And they publish updates frequently.

And then there’s me. If you know anything about me and my work history, you would ask, “What haven’t you done?” To me, the purpose of a job is to pay my bills, increase my skills and fund my dreams. What should I post since I’m not trying to establish myself as a subject matter expert?

Currently, I work in a clerical position and am seeking a learning and development specialist position. The L&D role is a different job classification that requires different knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). What type of content would I publish to show that I’m interested – and qualified – for these roles even though I’ve been working in clerical for the past few years?

Sidebar: LinkedIn algorithm sucks just like the rest of the social networks. When I go to the job search option, they load clerical positions even though I type “learning and development specialist” in the search bar. I just wanted to get this off my chest.

I am also building my writing and photography business. Should I include this information in my LinkedIn summary along with my job search information? If so, what is the best way to do it?

Those were just a few questions I have about publishing content on LinkedIn. Any answers you have would be greatly appreciated. Put them in the comment box below.

What About You?

Do you publish content on LinkedIn? If so, what topics do you cover? How often do you publish? Have you gotten clients or other paid opportunities from content you’ve published?
