Bloggers have to consistently create quality content in order to attract visitors and keep them returning. They have to plan what they want to share, write and edit blog posts, and create a consistent posting and promotion schedule. That’s pressure.
Then, they have to be strategic in their content delivery in order to convert visitors into clients; decide the most effective words to use; and determine if the message should be delivered via text, audio, video or image. More pressure.
And let’s not dismiss the amount of effort and creativity needed to promote the content often. Even though there are tons of tools that automate this process, bloggers still have to select the tools to use, develop promotional messages, decide which social networks to send their messages to and determine the best delivery times. Even more pressure.
So, how do bloggers relieve the pressures of blogging? Continue reading to find out.
Relieve the Pressures of Blogging
Pre-Planning
- Create a marketing plan. Ideally, this will be done in the early stages of blogging but it can be done at any time. Be flexible. Just as your blog evolves and grows over time, so will your marketing strategies.
- Develop a blog post and promotion schedule that works with your schedule.
- Plan your messages. What do you want to say? When do you want to say it? And how do you want to say it?
Content Creation
- Invest in content creation tools. My 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block book and companion guide help bloggers and content creators generate ideas and provide visual examples of the different types of posts they can create on their sites.
- Develop a system of writing several posts at once and then scheduling them versus trying to write a post per week.
- Use editorial calendars to establish a consistent posting and promotion schedule.
- Ask for guest posts to add different voices to your site. They also free up your time to promote previous posts and give other writers an opportunity to be read.
Blog Post Promotion
- Develop relationships with social media enthusiasts and other bloggers. While it would be nice to have influencers to promote you and your work, it is easier to find people who get tons of engagement on their blogs and social networks. Ask them to promote your posts and be sure to reciprocate.
- Make it easy to share your content with social share buttons.
- Automate as many processes as possible, including scheduling your blog posts and social media updates.
Above are just a few pressures of blogging and recommendations for how to relieve them.
