Have you ever prayed for something and got it, but you didn’t recognize it because of the way it manifested? Or, have you casually spoken something into the Universe and it came to life?
Well, that has happened to me a few times recently and I wanted to share because thoughts, words and requests really do have power, so be careful what you ask for because you just might get it.
Request #1
I prayed for a position that would pay a salary that would cover my expenses, allow me to save at least 10% of my income and have money for a social life. I also wanted time to work on my writing projects.
In my current role, I can draft or revise articles and read when we have no customers. I also manage my time better and more focused on completing projects because of the lack of “free” time.
Request #2
There’s a saying that people leave managers, not companies. I always pray for a cool supervisor because this relationship can make the employment experience tolerable, even when other factors go awry.
Well, I am happy to report that I have a cool supervisor and was bonused with amazing teammates.
Statement #1
I promised myself that if I were ever in position to provide a good customer experience, I would do it. Interacting with the public is 99% of my job. I can say that I provide this experience…even to not-so-nice and difficult customers.
Statement #2
One of my “dream” jobs (when I get wealthy) is to be a tour guide. I actually perform this duty in my current position. For some reason, staff from other agencies send people who don’t need our services to our agency.
In my role, I direct people to their destinations. If I don’t know where to go, I’ll research the information and share it with them. That means, I get a chance to learn something new while helping others. I’ve learned so much about services offered by government agencies at all levels.
Lastly, I interact with everyone who enters our department and learn a lot of stuff. Sometimes I learn more waaaaay than I care to know about individuals personally; but hey, it comes with the job.
Here are few cool things about being at the front desk. First, I get paid to talk. Second, I get to educate and encourage people on their journey of success. Third, I’ve met people who have become sources of encouragement for me. Fourth, I am certain I am going to meet the people I need to achieve my personal and professional goals.
Bottom line: be careful what you say and ask because you do not know when or how it will manifest. Depending on the request, the manifestation may mirror your vision, but most times it won’t.
