I’m Hired!
Remember my feelings about my job search process in my post, Games Recruiters Play, a few weeks ago? I was not happy.
Well, I am excited to share that I will be starting a contract trainer position soon. Thank you for your prayers and assistance with my quest.
I am SUPER elated because
- I really wanted a training gig;
- I get to apply my previous skills and experiences, as well as things I learned at Toastmasters and Second City;
- I will be traveling locally;
- I don’t have to sit behind a desk ALL day (just the thought makes me want to scratch my nails across a chalkboard);
- This opportunity will open doors to more training and speaking gigs, which is on my professional development list;
- Most importantly, I will have the funds to finish the following projects: 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block workbook; a resource guide; a holiday guide; and a book for writers.
How will my gig impact my writing and blogging?
I will continue to write and blog. I’m going to do my best to maintain my sites while I work. Right now I have a posting schedule of at least once a week, which is manageable.
I am still pitching publications and sending letters of introductions for freelance writing opportunities. Also, I am responding to calls for presenters at conferences (I’ve submitted two already).
The only thing that will change is I will have less time to waste during the day, which will prompt me to get more done in a smaller amount of time. And I will be more focused on what I need to do.
I just wanted to share my good news. I have things to wrap up before I start on my start on my journey. Should anything change where I’m unable to maintain my sites, I will definitely let you know.
