- When people add me to their e-mail lists without my permission.
- When people ask me to write for free….for any reason.
- When I have to register to vote for something or someone. Can I just go to the site and click??
- When sites ask me to sign in with Twitter, Facebook or Google+. So, if I don’t have either of these accounts, does that mean I can’t get in?
- When people respond to my e-mail via Facebook, text or any way other than the way I sent it.
- When people want me to think for them. Dude, I am working on building a writing business, a blogging business, a speaking business while finding and attending networking events and doing family stuff. Does it sound like I have time to think for you?
- When I have to convince people that don’t know what a blog is that I am qualified to work for them. Can we say “new target market”?
- When people get excited when they learn I’m writer and say, “Maybe you can write my book,” and it’s never followed by “What are your rates?”
- When I put so much time into chasing small jobs when that time could be used to pursue larger, higher-paying gigs.
- When I don’t take time to do things I enjoy with the excuse that I have to drum up some business. Uh, stop the madness because it’s causing sadness!
Bonus Annoyances
- When I use money as an excuse not to do things that I want.
- When I allow my pride to get in the way of asking for help when I know that people would help if I just ask.
What are some things that annoy you?
