How to Manage Multiple Blogs and Maintain Your Sanity [Week 1: How To Post]

Posted on March 5, 2019August 7, 2019 by Ms. Marcie

Blogger's Block Challenge - Week 1

I used to own and manage multiple blog sites. Why? Because I am interested in sharing information on various topics and all of my sites have different purposes and different audiences.

Marcie Writes houses my writing portfolio and shares my lessons along my writing journey. Writers, bloggers, prospects and clients are the audience for this site. My community site, Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource, spotlights people, places and events on the South Side of Chicago. And Real Skate Stories is my roller skating research site where it is always great to hear from roller skaters, roller rink owners and roller skate manufacturers.

Following is my strategy for managing multiple blogs. Some months are more successful than others, but overall I manage to maintain a consistent blogging schedule and my sanity throughout the process.

Manage Multiple Blogs

First, have a listing of at least 3 general topics for each of your sites. You can further narrow your topics into specific or general categories.

Marcie Writes Writing, blogging, self-publishing
Shorty People, places and event on the South Side of Chicago
Real Skate stories Roller skaters, roller rinks, roller rink owners

Second, determine a writing and publishing schedule that fits your lifestyle. Here’s my posting schedule:

Marcie Writes Weekly
Shorty Weekly
Real Skate stories Monthly

Third, designate a posting day for each site.

Marcie Writes Tuesday
Shorty Monday
Real Skate stories Thursday

Maintaining Your Sanity

  1. Assess your schedule. Be realistic about how much time you really have to blog.
  2. Plan your content marketing strategy in advance.
  3. Create an editorial calendar that is manageable.
  4. Develop a writing schedule that works for. You can write all of posts one day and schedule them for posting later or write and post the same day.
  5. Ask for bloggers to submit quality guest

Managing one blog is time consuming, but handling multiple sites requires a lot of discipline and commitment. By implementing the strategies listed above, you can successfully manage multiple blogs and maintain your sanity.
