Are you a freelance writer, author, journalist or wannabe in need of support from a like-minded, helpful individuals?
Would you like to have access to ordinary people just like you who are where you want to be in your writing life?
Well, you should join the Chicago Writers Association (CWA). This organization has been serving Chicago’s writing community for years, and is probably one of the city’s best kept secrets. Last year, I had an opportunity to interview Randy Richardson, CWA’s president, when he released his most recent book, Cheeseland.
I’ve been a member for over three years and I’ve met some amazing people. It’s a diverse group with diverse interests, so you can connect with people who share your interests. Also, they have quite a few events throughout the year that cater to the various literary areas.
Other benefits of the organization include a magazine, a very active Facebook community with over 750 members, book reviews and relationships and opportunities with partnering writing organizations. I like it.
