I thought about the things I would do if money were not an issue, and the following activities came to me.
1. Skate
2. Swim
3. Ride my bike
4. Get buffed feminine style
5. Take a different dance class every day – Ballet, Ballroom, Steppin’, Salsa, African. Heck, I’m even willing to River Dance if it’s taught by a cool instructor.
Now, when all of my physical activity is done, I would like to teach young people how to write in an informal, comfortable environment conducive to learning. I really want to teach them how to enjoy writing. It would be informal, but structured. I would teach everything from basics, to creative, to humor, to grant and business plan writing. Ok, I personally wouldn’t teach everything…you know what I mean.
Photography, videography, social media marketing, editing and other software, and crafting projects will be offered for a full-rounded creative experience.
Actually, I would like a little red writing schoolhouse (old school). It would be ol’ school on the outside and very new school on the inside. It would have contemporary furniture, big spaces for thinking and creativity, and the latest and greatest technology.
Ol’ school values, morals and work ethic will be front and center. All writing and drafting will be done by hand. Finished products and creativity will be done on the computer. There will be group sessions, individual activities and team building exercises.
In addition to writing, students will learn respect, discipline, public speaking, entrepreneurial skills and anything else that will help make them better creative communicators.
