- Mary McCleod Bethune
- Everyone who fought for freedom from slavery
- All warriors who fought for Civil
- The people who risked their lives for local, regional and national wars
- Everyone making history today, even though they don’t know it

Hey Marcie,
I am thankful for and appreciative of all of the great contributions black people have made. I also am thankful for parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and other relatives; they have passed on skills, knowledge, and crafts that we now use to enhance our lives.
As a culture, it is important that we CREATE positive black history all year round. In other words, let’s give future generation a reason to celebrate us.
Hey Gloria. We should celebrate and create black history year round. I am going to plant seeds in our young people to let them know that THEY are creating history by things they do TODAY. This will be all done in the spirit of Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the Father of Black History.
