I requested information from an institution for my research on January 10, 2011 with a deadline date of April 15, 2011. I think three months is ample time to do a thorough search through files, particularly on the hard-to-find topic I’m researching.
Why did I get a response today? This is the first response I have EVER received since my initial contact in January – exactly 3 months and 10 days later. The researcher had the audacity to mention her schedule. Was I supposed to care?
I felt that 3 months was generous considering I’m not in a big hurry, but I would like to have my information so I can move forward with my project. Another consideration – the information I have may be of service to the institution especially since there isn’t very much available.
I’m glad I’m doing me, and I’m giving myself time to work my project. If I had to depend on other people, I would be totally S.O.L.
Just had to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening.
