Devin C. Hughes and I finally had our diversity discussion on Blab last Wednesday. I wanted to interview him for several reasons.
First, we’ve been LinkedIn connections for a while and have been communicating over the years.
Second, he wrote an article about diversity that was very enlightening. Diversity is one of his passions and he brings a unique perspective to this topic and other experiences from a biracial point of view.
Finally, I wanted to learn more about his views on the lack of diversity in children’s literature and his books for youth.
Notes about interview: My interviews are usually 30 minutes; however, due to my interest in this topic, it was extended to an hour. Also, Devin was experiencing technical difficulties so you can only see me and hear him.
