Happy Independence Day!
I was determined to get this post done before the end of this week and I made it. I often say that when life happens, your blog is usually the first thing to go. Well, I’m trying my best to keep this one going.
Here’s a listing of projects that held up my blogging this week.
- Learning new materials for my training gig.
- Grocery shopping for the holiday.
- Researching how to buy a used car. My car finally conked on me.
- Working with my designer to complete the formatting and cover for my 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block workbook. Hope to have this completely finished by July 15th.
- Completing the edits for my forthcoming Ebook, The 7 Practices of Highly Underpaid Freelance Writers. The cover is in progress. Hope to have this completely finished by July 15th and published by August 1st.
- Waiting for the edits on my infographic about bloggers to be completed. That infographic started as an article idea and ended up as a visual.
- Reading Business Model Generation: A Handbook for Visionaries, Game Changers, and Challengers by Alexander Osterwalder & Yves Pigneur. I was assigned to read this book to help me move forward in my business.
- I finally finished reading Rising from the Rails: Pullman Porters and the Making of the Black Middle Class by Larry Tye. Highly recommended if you’re into black history. I like Tye’s writing style.
- Trying to find a new design for Marcie Writes. It’s time for a makeover. If you see any cool WordPress themes, let me know.
I know my list looks exhaustive – and it is, but I’m on a mission to complete projects that I’ve let go for too long. It’s so frustrating.
For example, the article for the infographic was drafted either late last year or early this year, and I’m just taking action. What was I waiting for?
Also, I’ve checked out Rising from the Rails from the library at least four times. That’s three months! That book should have been finished in half that time. I didn’t want to start Business Model Generation until this one was finished.

With only 9 weeks and 2 days left before my first Silver Dollar City, Branson, MO, gig in September (the second set is Oct 14-31) I feel so far behind. And of course lets not forget about having to take time off for the holiday weekend which requires a 4 hour drive home and back, and hubby on vaca this week and wanting to get away for a few days, AND Sept 5 my youngest daughter is getting married and I’m designing and making the dress!
I need so much more product made for the SDC event and I’m just going to have to do what I can. I’ve made a portable twirling tray to I can at least make the typical quilled shapes away from my studio so I do feel a little less discombobulated! lol
Somewhere in the middle I’m supposed to blog? At least I have your awesome book (so looking forward to the workbook) so if I would motivate myself to add a little blogging I’d have no problem finding an example.
Blessings, Marcie. Your posts are such a motivating joy in my life.
Here’s to never being bored!
Lisa
Oh! and I forgot I’m cabin mom next week for the girls at church youth camp! So I will be down to 7 weeks and 2 days before I can do some killer awesome stuff will all these hundreds of twirled shapes I’ll have made! lol
Twirling, twirling, twirling, keep those papers twirling!
Spinning in circles Lisa.
