I had the pleasure of interviewing my buddy, Dequiana Jackson, for the Independent Bulletin newspaper. This article was especially easy to write for several reasons.
First, Dequiana is a friend of several years. Someone told me to call her because he felt we should know each other and we’ve been connected ever since. We spoke on the phone and text each other for years before we met in person.
Second, we’re accountability partners. We check-in with each other several times a week to see how we’re doing personally and professionally. We brainstorm ideas; discuss rates we should charge for services; send texts with random thoughts; or do health checks.
Third, we cheer each other on. It’s hard and lonely being an entrepreneur and we do get discouraged at times. When that happens, you need to reach out to someone who understands and will encourage you. Dequiana is my person.
The last reason this article was easy to write was because I remember when she started Inspired Marketing, Inc. I’ve watched her grow personally and professionally. Click on the image to read our interview
