Just when you think you have a good grip on social networking sites, you either read something or attend an event or speak to someone who lets you know that you just don’t got it (incorrect grammar intended).
And that’s what happened when I attended the Speed Networking + Tips and Tricks for Leveraging LinkedIn sponsored by the Technology for Women Meetup this week. Emily Bichler, our facilitator, gave us tips and lessons on how to network and use link in.
On Speed Networking
We wrote our a ten-second introduction for speed networking, which was really fun. You never know the amazing people in the room until you talk to them.
After about five rounds of intros, we got a few lessons on LinkedIn. Following are four cool tricks we can use to maximize our experience.
4 Cool LinkedIn Tricks
1. You can save searches.
2. When you join groups of your target audience, you can contact individuals directly instead of sending a friend request.
3. Put your name in all caps and people will select you first when then have needs. I don’t know if this actually works, but I’m giving it a try.
4. If you don’t have a person’s full name, you can start typing their name and select them when their full name appears.
How About You?
Were you aware of any of the tricks listed above? What are some LinkedIn functions you use to maximize your experience on LinkedIn?
You’ll have to let me know if that caps letter things actually works. My mind’s doubting it but one never knows. lol
I’ll be sure to do that. Honestly, that was my first time hearing that so I decided to give it a shot.
Do you know of other tricks a lot of people don’t know about?
