Did you read comic strips in the newspaper growing up? Have you ever considered writing your own comic strip? You have a chance to do so on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
Award-winning comic book writer and graphic novelist Alverne Ball will guide writers through the process of comic book script writing by using different media forms to construct a producible script. Attendees will learn:
• How to read a comic
• The placement of word balloons in a comic
• Comic book scripting terminology
• Directing/screenwriting terminology
• Pacing, dialogue and plot
The workshop will be held from 11 am to 1 pm CST Saturday, May 21, 2022 via Zoom. The cost of the workshop is $20 for Chicago Writers Association members is $20 and $30 for nonmembers.
