Posting consistently is one of the biggest challenges of bloggers. Recently, I attended a blogging meetup in Chicago and asked a few people how often they post. The responses varied, but very few said they post consistently.
If you are like these bloggers and want to be more consistent in publishing, join my 8-week blogger’s block challenge. What is the purpose? To attempt to develop a consistent writing and publishing schedule, with a goal of publishing one blog post a week for eight weeks from March 5 – April 23rd.
Here are the post types by week:
- Week 1: How To
- Week 2: Quick Tips
- Week 3: Definition
- Week 4: Informational
- Week 5: Story
- Week 6: Inspirational
- Week 7: List
- Week 8: Link
Explanation and examples of each post can be found in my 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block Book. Also, the blogger’s block companion guide can be used to generate ideas for each blog post type.
But here’s the thing: you can actually “cheat” and be successful. Here are a few suggestions for cheating:
- You can write all of your blog posts at one time and schedule them to posts once a week
- You can repurpose content you already have and re-post them
- You can write two posts a week and schedule them. That way, you can write and post every other week
The options are endless.
Your blog posts should
- Be at least 250 words
- Include at least one image
After you publish your post, include a link in the comment section below, tag me on Twitter or LinkedIn, or email me so I can help promote your post.
In the meantime, let me know if you’re going to join me on my 8-week Blogger’s Block Challenge via contact form or email.
