I ask this question because I was advised to to create a Facebook page for my book, 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block. It’s pretty much a bulletin board for status updates; there is no interaction. I pretty much had to stalk people to like my page. Of course, I could always start a group, but it has to be managed. And if I’m not doing a great job with my page, I can’t image what a group page would look like.
Twitter is my favorite social media site of all. However, I am not using it correctly to market my book. I have over 5,000 followers and will soon be targeting my messages to particular lists. I’m working on a strategy.
I am definitely not maximizing LinkedIn. I’m in several writing, blogging and WordPress groups and have not been active. And these groups are very active according to my weekly updates. I am going to start hanging out on LinkedIn at least twice a week, and contributing my these groups. This is definitely international exposure.
I’m still trying to squeeze in Google+. I heard many small business owners say they had good results, I just can’t fathom adding more social to my activities unless they convert to sales.
YouTube has been calling me and I have not responded yet. I really need to put time into making videos, because this is what’s going to ultimately help promote my book and other ventures.
Last but no least – Pinterest. This is the newest site on the scene and is quite addictive. I was advised to promote my book on this site, but I’m trying to learn how to best do it. If you are not familiar with Pinterest, this is a site where you “pin” pictures and videos. I’m sure this would be very useful in my book marketing efforts once I figure out the best way to use it.
So, which social media sites work best for you and how has it worked for you? Enlighten us please.

Hi Marcie
I’ve had a good success with Facebook. Not the page – but my social network (friends).
Cheers
Hi Raaj,
Do you have a page for your blog? How do you measure success?
Hey Marcie. Yes, I do have a page for my blog – (FB.com/myblogismymoney). But as I said, the page doesn’t have many fans as of now, but I’ve got some good friends from my niche who’re regular readers of my blog.
And BTW, why don’t your have a “reply-notification” plugin? 🙂 I just passed by this post and saw that my comment was replied lol! Do install one.
Cheers
As per my experience; Facebook have the first preference, Twitter second and G+ in third..
Pavan, what do you do to engage your audience on Facebook? Right now, my page is one big bulletin board.
