My Bulletin Article: 4 Biggest Lies About Minimum Wage

Posted on August 22, 2014October 31, 2014 by Ms. Marcie

Minimum Wage

For the past year or so, I have been hearing debates and receiving e-mails about minimum wage. I also attended a panel discussion sponsored by the Community Media Workshop to hear the stories of people who are working every day and are still struggling.

This got to me to paying more attention to the issues and arguments and I have to say that it is a very complex issue. There are so many arguments to minimum wage, but what it boils down to is , in my opinion, can people eat and live without government assistance on the wages they make and the hours they work?

Ooooh, I was about to jump on my soapbox. To avoid that from happening, you can read my article that was published in the Independent Bulletin in July.

After reading, feel free to share your thoughts and experiences about minimum wage in the comment box below.

Thanks for clearing up these falsehoods about Minimum Wage. I think everyone in the workforce need to read it, so tweeted & sent to fb.

I actually think that more pre-employment education is needed. However, I don’t have any suggestions on how this can be done for adults and young people they are not in the workforce training programs. And I’m certain companies are not sharing this information.
