It’s been a while since I last posted an update on ALL of my sites. I’ve made changes since the last post in 2013 and there will be more changes in 2014.
Marcie Writes
This is my site where I educate others through my writing, blogging, publishing and other experiences. In a previous post, I shared that I was trying to imitate other bloggers on this site which was a massive fail. My goal is to educate others but from a place where that’s authentically me.
Upcoming changes: a logo, event calendar, e-courses and more resources and trainings.
Overcoming Blogger’s Block
This site was created for my book, 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block. I’ll be honest; the only reason why I created it was because someone advised me to. However, after discussing my presentation with attendees at New Media Expo, I discovered more opportunities to truly help people overcome Blogger’s Block.
Upcoming changes: Blogger’s block boot camps and additional products to help people get un-stuck on their blogging journey.
Shorty: Your Chicago South Side Resource
I started my Shorty In Da House newsletter in 2002 to thank people who helped me to get a job at that time and turned it into a blog in 2011. Shorty was and still is a community resource with a goal of spotlighting people, places and events in the community.
Upcoming changes: new log, new website design, Shorty’s Lists (the first one will be in March!!!), event calendar and more income generating opportunities.
Real Skate Stories
I created this site to collect roller skating memories. So far, I get at least two comments per month even though more people are visiting. Even though my focus is on Chicago roller skating right now; my interest is in ALL roller skating history. Well, quad skates – not ice skates, not inline and not skateboarding.
Upcoming changes: revamped website, more interaction and even more memories.
Know When to Fold’Em
I actually shut down the blog on my business site, The Write Design Company. I was struggling to come up with content each week, and it was so emotionally draining.I will resume it if I find a suitable direction.
That’s what’s going on with all of my sites. I’m so excited about the upcoming changes. Things are definitely going to be greater this year.
