As we celebrate Black History month, I would like to share six types of black history posts that will document black people in history; highlight people creating history today; and help you overcome blogger’s block.
Link Posts
Link posts make it easy for you to link to your favorite black history sites, resources, publications and articles you feel will add to your audience’s knowledge. Allow me to begin with This Day in Black History and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
Photos
Images always add life to stories. Images can be used to complement a story or to tell the story. You can also create a photo gallery or slideshow of popular people, places and events, which could be used for quizzes and contests. Most importantly, you can post images of your grandparents or allow readers to share their family photos and histories.
“Best of” or “Top” Posts
These posts would be fun to create because you are sharing your knowledge and opinions. Two “Best of” and “Top” topics that come to mind are: “10 Best Black Movies Ever Made” or “The Top Influential Black Women in History.”
Case Studies
A case study is a detailed report of research conducted over of period of time. Thus, you can write a post about black businesses 50 years old or older; the black experience in different eras in American History; or racists policies and practices that are still in effect today. Be as creative as you want. Just be sure your facts are accurate and you report the information in an engaging manner.
Hypothetical
These posts would definitely make your audience think. The main topic of such a post that comes to mind is, “If Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was alive today, what would he say about the parties that are dishonoring his memory?”
Audio
There are at least three ways to use audio to educate your audience.
- Speak your stories and research findings.
- Interview historians, “seasoned” citizens, and your peers about their experiences as black people living in America.
- Read black historical books to create audio books. Be sure to get permission from the author or publishing house when creating those audio books. You cannot afford to be sued.
Above are just six types of black history posts you can create to overcome blogger’s block while documenting black people in history and highlighting people creating history today.

Furthermore,in episode 40, the god arena was introduced. You can compete aainst
others to win the top spot for your favorite challenge, and
attempt to knock others off their pedestal. It is both funny and pathetic at the same time that
you have too press this big red button on an apparatus attached
to your controller if you start getting owned, almost like
a panic button.
