I have had a couple experiences with church people over the past couple weeks, and they have been eye openers.
I had to interview two different people for two different projects, and I got a sense of diva-ness, even though one person was a man. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact they sing in the choir? Whatever it is, it was a true turn-off.
When speaking to the person in charge of one of the projects, the response was: “that’s how some people are.” Oh, really? And you think that’s OK? I’m going to start telling people what Moni Rashad advised me to say, “I am NOT as saved as you are,” and blast them in Jesus’ name.
After these experiences, I am almost certain that church people are going to be the subject of many of my comedy writing skteches. The stuff you get from them are funny – literally and figuratively.
I just wanted to share that because I have never encountered such attitudes in my life. Maybe I have and just didn’t pay attention. Either way, I’m certain that these will not be the last stories about church people I share.
