I need a style. I need one personally more so than professionally. I’m OK with my professional gear. Personally, I just wear stuff. My clothes are not ugly or anything; they’re good for everyday wear. I want a style where people will look at a piece of clothing and say, “That looks like Marcie.” I need to add accessories to my wardrobe. Honestly, I am not a “girly girl.” I am a tomboy with the awareness I need to do the “girly” stuff.
Don’t get me wrong, I dress appropriately for all occasions, and I look good in what I wear. But, I will be a bit more striking if my attire says, “Hey, that’s Marcie.” I’m sure my attitude in those clothes would contribute. I can’t really heap a huge level of confidence in clothes hanging off of me. I’m working on that. Alterations are NOT cheap.
I’ll start reading articles on how to create a personal style later. Then, I’ll hit up my fashion conscious “girly” girls for tips on accessories. I will also check out episodes of What Not to Wear and fashion magazines to pull it all together.
Because I think my eyelashes are pretty, I might even contact my fellow Toastmaster for instruction on how to apply mascara without poking myself in the eye.
I just wanted to put that thought in writing to ensure I come back to it before the end of this week.
