I am excited to share that my online course, Blogging Success for New Bloggers, is available for sale after months of procrastination and weeks of action.
Procrastination and Other Excuses
Let me say that creating this course was no easy undertaking because I wanted it to be a certain way. If it were an email course or a series of PowerPoint slides, it would have been done last year. But because I wanted a more personal feel, I did a screencast. You can hear my voice and see my screen as I go through the lessons.
Also, I had to overcome feelings of doubt; procrastination; and other negative feelings and actions I allowed to hold me back.
Can I be honest? The script and presentation were done in November of last year. I told myself that I was going to have a screencast with video, voice and screen, which is a great idea. But I’m not comfortable recording talking head videos and my workspace cannot accommodate my ideal video recording set-up.
I also kept setting – and ignoring – completion deadlines. Even though finishing my course was on my to-do list every month. Even though I had an accountability partner. Even though I knew what needed to be done.
Action
At some point, I got tired of being a slacker and moved forward with creating the course. It took three weeks to record and edit the screencast using Screencast-o-matic. It took another week or two to set up my Teachable account and school. It wasn’t hard; I just had to get familiar with the program.
I could have kicked myself for not finishing this project sooner. I procrastinated for five months and completed it within five weeks. Ugh!
