Have you ever asked yourself one or more of the following questions?
- What topic(s) should I write today (this week or this month)?
- In which format should I present my topics (written, audio, images or video)?
- When should I publish these posts?
- No ideas are coming to me at all. What should I do?
If so, you were experiencing blogger’s block. Today we’re going to provide resources to help you overcome blogger’s block through brainstorming.
Brainstorming Blog Topic Ideas
First, write or type general topics you can share. Then create a listing of subtopics (see link above).
Here are a few questions to help you get started:
- What topics would solve your readers’ problems?
- What questions have people been asking that can be answered on your site?
Second, select the tools you want to use to goldmine ideas for blog posts. Traditional, online and mobile options are available.
Traditional Brainstorming Tools
I’m old school so traditional brainstorming tools are more my flavor.
- Notepad and pen
- Notebook paper or scratch paper with pencil, paper and markers
- Post-it wall pad and sharpies to see ideas more vividly
Online Mind Mapping Tools
I do not use online mind mapping tools personally because I prefer traditional brainstorming tools. However, here are free programs that were recommended on several sites I researched.
Mind Mapping Apps
Consider the following free mind mapping apps for your Android and Apple devices.
- SimpleMind (IOS and Droid)
- Mindly (IOS and Droid)
- GoConqr Mind Map (Droid)
- MindMaple Lite (IOS)

How About You?
How do you brainstorm blog topic ideas? Which tools do you use?
Good Evening,
How interesting to see your ad in the Bulletin Newspaper, then after going into it, I see that I met you and you shared then that you were researching the roller skating craze in Chicago. I told you that my sister’s mother in law was an ol school skater and was going to try and locate some pictures. Unfortunately, my sister passed last month and was unable to have her search for some. But I am still trying with her children and husband. Seeing your blog has given me additional incentive to get mine started. Blessings to you.
Marie, thanks for checking me out and stopping through. Any pictures you share would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need help with your blog.
