Happy New Year! I was going to extend my break through next week but I had to return because so many great things are happening. And the year just began! Also, I wanted to get this message to you ASAP.
SHAKE OFF FEARS AND EXCUSES AND LIVE YOUR DREAMS IN 2016!!
It doesn’t matter where you are in life – mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally or financially, make it happen.
If you are super busy with family, work, caregiving or life in general, try to squeeze in “me” time a few hours a week. Even better, check Groupon for deals on massages, manicures, pedicures or day spas and make that reservation ASAP.
If you want to take an international vacation (heck, any vacation) that seems to defy your paycheck digits, start planning and saving now. You never know, you may get there sooner than expected. Research travel deals and talk to people in the industry. They know things leisure travelers don’t.
Want a new job? Start networking. You don’t know who knows somebody who knows somebody who can help you. Your ideal position is waiting for you but you’ll never get it if you don’t bust a move.
Don’t have a lot of money? As long as you work for someone else, you will never have a lot of money. Stop using this as an excuse and figure out how to boost your bottom line with your gifts, skills, talents and expertise. Remember, a JOB is Just Over Broke.
And if your dream seems so far-fetched and out of reach, attempt to reach it anyway. Write a plan to get there and work it.
Allow me to share one of my BIG dreams for 2016: dinner with Prince, just me and the purple one. I love this guy. Although it would be great to just sit there and look at him (wonderful eye candy), it would be a huge blessing to bask in his creativity and musical gifts.
When the thought first came to me, I chuckled to myself. Then I thought, “Hmmmm, not a bad idea.” I’m now working on a plan to make it happen. I’ll definitely share the photos when that dream comes to life.
As I close, I want to again encourage you to

What are some of your dreams you’d like to see come to life in 2016??

Live your dreams; that’s a nice sentiment. I’ll add that it’s okay to live one’s dreams while remembering that sometimes you have to live outside of your dreams to do so. That’s an interesting concept put forth by Mike Rowe and, unfortunately, he was right; just something to think about. 🙂
Mitch, color me slow. What did Mike Rowe mean by live outside your dream while living one’s dream (did I interpret that correctly?)?
He told the story about a guy who has to do these nasty procedures with sheep. The guy hates the work, but where he lives he’s the only person who does it. Thus, he gets paid really well, and because his dream is to travel and what he does isn’t a year round thing he’s been all over the world because the money he makes is very good. So, he chose to do a nasty job that pays really well to follow a different dream. 🙂
Got it. For most of us, that’s a job and we need that to fund our dreams. So, I want to encourage people to live beyond fear, worries and bills and LIVE.
Actually, it’s not a job… it’s a career. Remember, he’s the only one who does it so he could up and leave whenever he wants to. There’s always more than one way to fulfill a dream if the dream is big enough. As was said in The Secret, you put your dreams out there and the universe is waiting to manifest them, even if not in the way you were expecting it to.
