As we approach this holiday season of gratitude, here are a few Thanksgiving post ideas to help you overcome blogger’s block.
Menus and Recipes
What are you and your family eating for Thanksgiving? Let your readers know. You may give them ideas for their meal and get ideas from the comments your readers leave on your site. Add more value to your audience by sharing a recipe or two with images. For extra engagement, invite your readers to share their menus, recipes and images.
Family Traditions
Some families dine at their parents’ house every year while others rotate dinner locations. Maybe a certain dish has been a staple at Thanksgiving dinners for years. Share these and other things that have become family traditions.
Reviews
Here are a few things you can review for your site: food, cooking tools, places to grocery shop, cooking sites, and recipes. These are just a few examples; be as creative as you want.
What Are You Thankful For?
This can take you through the entire month. We have our every day blessings that we are thankful for, and then there are unexpected blessings and miracles. Be sure to share those. Don’t block your blessings by not sharing yours with others.
Food Price Comparisons and Coupons
If you are a conscious shopper, you have an idea of how much products should cost. Share this with your audience. For example, a neighborhood store sells a 32 oz. jar of Miracle Whip for $3.99 during the holidays and says that their regular price is $6.99. That’s robbery! You should never pay more than $2.99 for Miracle Whip unless you just really need to. And don’t forget to share coupons that you find to help your readers save money.
Videos of How to Prepare Dishes
This would be a great addition to your site whether it was planned or impromptu. You can use a webcam, your phone, mini video cameras or regular camcorder to make this happen. Have fun with it!
Your Favorite Food Sites
There are loads of food sites online and you can share your favorite food sites by creating a list or link post. The only difference between the two post types is that you add links to the actual web sites with link posts.
Write a news story about a local organization providing Thanksgiving dinner
You are incorporating two post categories with this one: news and honor others. There are so many organizations that never get recognized for the work they do. This is your chance to spotlight the organization and possibly gain publicity for caring enough to share their story and good deeds.
Above are just a few ideas for Thanksgiving posts you can create to help overcome blogger’s block. You can more ideas on different types of posts as well as how to create them in the soon-to-be-published 62 Blog Posts to Overcome Blogger’s Block book.
