After speaking with several professionals in different industries about their bios, the following three mistakes were discovered.
1. You Don’t Have One
Bios tell your professional story in a narrative format. It highlights who you are, what you do, and your accomplishments at work and in your community. If you don’t have a professional bio, write yours today.
2. You’re Not Using It Right
Resumes are used for employment opportunities only. Bios are used for employment, speaking engagements, your blogs and social media profiles, business proposals and more.
3. It’s a Snooozzzzzer
A boring bio is about as bad as not having one at all. Read over your bio. If it’s not engaging to you, it won’t be to your reader either.
