Pictures: #1919TechTeaParty at Blue 1647

The team at Blue 1647 held a Tech Tea Party on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 to celebrate black women in technology and it felt more like a family reunion than an educational forum.

Blue 1647’s 1919 Initiative helps women build their tech skills. They don’t just focus on coding, which has become synonymous with tech these days. They focus on all forms of technology. I was a member of their first graphic design cohort last year.

Getting back to the Tech Tea Party.

The first image is of the panelists discussing their experiences as women in the tech space.

  • Dima Elissa- CEO & Founder of Vismed-3D Printing and Consulting
  • Starr Cunningham- Founder & CEO of 4D Healthware
  • Dineo Seakamela- Branding Director of Black Tech Mecca

The rest of the images are of people I met at different educational events, mostly technology. I promise, there’s a place in the tech space for me….still searching for it.

While I try to find myself, enjoy the pics from #1919TechTeaParty at Blue 1647
